Quick stuff

Running behind this morning, but here’s a few quickies…

Got to listen to my first O’s game yesterday, hearing Joe Angel’s voice was a much welcomed sound.

Jaret Wright only pitched one inning. Turns out this was planned, not an injury. Apparently, they’re slowly working him back up to his usual 5 innings (I kid..I hope). 1 inning, 1 hit, 1 walk…no damage done. He also picked off David Newhan, who is now a Met.

Garret Olson pitched two innings for the win, 1 run on 2 hits and 1 K.

Melvin Mora had a great day. 2 for 4, both hard hammered doubles (a throwing on a bases loaded double gave him third base on one) and 4 RBIs. He also made some great defensive plays. Let’s hope last year was a fluke and we see more of this this season.

Tejada had an error and a few hits his way that gave him a little trouble, but let’s just hope he’s shaking the rust out.

Rahmes Liz pitched two innings, gave up 2 runs on 4 hits with two walks and 1 K. That’s ok though, since he’s not due for the majors for another year or so.

Remember it’s only Spring Training.

Ruben Sierra is still playing baseball. Geez.

The O’s play the Marlins…again today. Guess what they play again Wednesday.

Regardless of whether it’s Spring games or Marlins games or split squad games, it’s great to have the O’s back. Loewen pitches today, but I’ll be at work, so I’ll miss that one.
