Hendry: “That is not accurate”

Cubs GM Jim Hendry says reports of a 9 player trade that was nixed by Peter Angelos are not accurate.

I was leaning toward not believing this in the first place and now I certainly don’t.  The idea of the Cubs emptying out whatever talent they have in their farm system to us for Bedard and Roberts doesn’t make sense to me. If the Cubs did this deal and didn’t win the World Series, Hendry would have to start looking for a new job.

Maybe Roberts will still go to Cubs,  but it needs to happen soon. There’s been so many false alarms on this that it’s quite laughable. It’s 19 days til pitchers and catchers report, so it’s time to these trades to happen.
